Collaborative for Surgical Health Outcomes, Research, and Equity (C-SHORE)
The Collaborative for Surgical Health Outcomes, Research, and Equity (C-SHORE) at UCSF is a research collaborative committed to elevating health services research in the perioperative space and dedicated to improving equity in surgical care. Our goal is to empower and inspire the pursuit of improved healthcare value and equity for surgical patients through health services research.
By bringing together faculty, investigators, fellows, residents and students, C-SHORE aims to create a community in which ongoing research is shared, critiqued, refined and improved. We have lectures on critical issues in surgical care, healthcare disparities and health service research. We also have “work-in-progress” sessions for abstracts, upcoming conferences or new projects. Each of these presentations is accompanied by structured feedback intended to strengthen study design, analytic approaches, and interpretation of findings. This process not only enhances individual projects but also fosters rigorous, equity-oriented inquiry in surgical health services research.
When: Every Thursday from 4 to 5 pm PT
The group meets every Thursday from 4 to 5 pm via Zoom, allowing broad accessibility to participants regardless of physical location. An archive of past presentations is also maintained, allowing newer members to engage with historical work and lessons learned.
