Clinical Research Services

  • Clinical & Translational Science Institute: In-person and eLearning courses are available for UCSF Clinical Research Coordinators (CRCs) and study team members are available at the Clinical & Translational Science Institute (CTSI). The eLearning modules are available at any time, and in-person courses are offered periodically throughout the year. All courses are free of charge.
  • UCSF Office of Clinical Trial Activation: The Office of Clinical Trial Activation (OCTA, formerly the Office of Clinical Research) is the centralized one-stop shop for clinical research activation at UCSF, borne out of a goal of streamlining, standardizing, and improving support for the start-up of clinical research activities at UCSF.

Clinical Trials 

  • Clinical Trials at UCSF: As a leading health sciences university, UCSF is involved in more than 1,300 active clinical trials. All trials are conducted in coordination with UCSF Medical Center, which serves as UCSF’s academic medical center and is consistently ranked among the nation's top hospitals by U.S. News & World Report.
  • Global Clinical Trials: This is a database of privately and publicly funded clinical studies conducted around the world. Explore 340, 804 research studies in all 50 states and in 214 countries.
